This semester, I am lucky enough to have Thursdays as a completely free day.
This week I decided to spend that day with one half of my university friendship group, yes I'm truly that much of a loner, Claire. Broke, a little bit tired and in need of a good ol' natter, we decided to head to the Barbican for a little scenic wander by the sea. I found myself squabbling with Claire about her weird maternal need to feed every bloody bird she sees. If you come from the seaside, you know that feeding the birds is a cardinal sin! We got up and left before the seagull attacked us, venturing further along the Hoe for some ice cream, more bird action and a discussion about Claire's favourite Christmas carols. Yes, it was a slightly odd day. It was pretty lovely, nonetheless!
What sort of things do you get up to on your days off? Do you use them to do things or do you prefer to curl up and completely chill for the day?

chips and ice cream, jealous! I only brought porridge to work with me today :( I like to make the most of my days off an usually spend Saturdays going on a day trip or going out in the evening. I spend Tuesdays going to weight watchers and making all my food for the week and reading. Really want a day by the sea now xx
Deletethese pictures are so lovely, i live here & people underestimate how beautiful this place is. sundays for me are all about films, my duvet on the sofa & relaxing! xx

It has famously been said that Manchester has everything except a beach, and after looking at these photos- I think it's even more apt then I'd first thought. Waaah. I want a beach! :(

ReplyDeleteEndometriosis my life with you
I love the edit on these photographs. And the plentiful supply of images!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your seaside adventures, I adore the seaside, even in winter when you have to wrap up warm and avoid all the sea spray. I'm lucky enough to have a five day weekend this year (why do I bother paying for my education?), but unfortunately at the moment I seem to have shed loads of work and lots of other commitments keeping me busy in those 3 extra days of my weekend! :( xx
ReplyDeleteAaawww lovely photos, you've made me miss the sea already! xx
ReplyDeleteLove all your photos, looks like such a nice day for some seaside wanderings! Making me lust after some ice cream now :) On my days off I tend to just chill and catch up on sleep and things, but then I feel bad for not making the most of it.

Hmm those chips look delicious, they always taste better by the seaside don't they?
ReplyDeleteHellooo, great pictures, really! Are they all taken with a dslr or phone? I really enjoyed going though this post!
ReplyDeleteLove a bit of both for days off. The other weekend I managed to have the flat to myself and did NOTHING except eat, curl up on the sofa and watch TV/DVDS... Buuuut some of the best days off I've had have also been T & I getting in a car or getting on a tube- any line, any direction and getting off wherever we fancy and just wandering, people watching, and daydreaming!
ReplyDeleteYour photos always make me swoon. Honestly, it's like you've taken them on a Lomograpy camera. The lighting is dreamy! xx
