You may have been able to tell from the following photo dump, we absolutely adored our time in Scotland with my family. Both of my parents are Scottish, along with grandparents, so I've got Scottish heritage in abundance and I'm extremely proud of it! If you're ever looking for a place to visit in the UK, I would recommend the Borders heavily. I used to spend many of my Christmases up to my knees in snow there and they're my most treasured memories from my childhood. It's safe to say that this was one of the best trips I've ever been on and is perhaps all the more poignant looking back now as my Uncle has passed. I will forever be thankful for the week we got to spend with him and my Aunt, exploring new places and getting to show Luke what the Scottish lifestyle is all about. I fell in love with the place all over again and Luke was able to explore a new part of our very big world. You can't really ask for more than that...

I hope you've enjoyed this post and all the photographs! Part two will be up very soon with even more photographs for you to feast your eyes on. I'm sorry if I seem a little reserved, I'm just extremely tired and still in that stage where nothing seems real. I'm sure I'll soon be ship shape following the funeral next week so not to worry. In the meantime, thank you for being patient with me. Have you ever been to the Borders? Where's your favourite place to go in your country?

DeleteI went to the Lakes 4-5 years ago and it was absolutely stunning. I went there after my Grandad passed so it'll always hold a place in my heart because I was extremely reflective at the time. I've yet to venture to the Dales but it's a part of the world that I've always wanted to go to!

Scotland is so beautiful, I'd love to explore more of it! I love exploring the countryside but my favourite two places are York and Liverpool I adore them both! xx
ReplyDeleteIt really is!
DeleteMe too. I have been pretty lucky to explore quite a lot of the UK but I still want to see more. I've not actually been to York or Liverpool!!
I love the Scottish Borders, I actually live just on the border with Scotland so I visit a lot and it's full of some of the most beautiful places. (: It's really nice that you'll always have somewhere to associate with your Uncle as well when you visit in the future, and somewhere so nice too! And Scrabble is the best game, especially when you use a Z and feel all intelligent, even when the word you've spelt is only zoo..haha (: xx
ReplyDeleteOooh, you're very lucky!
DeleteIt's such a beautiful place. I had to re-check the photograph because I actually did place 'zoo' on the scrabble board the other day! Haha.
Looks like you had a lovely time! :) The dog in the final picture is so cute! :) xx
ReplyDeleteI live in south west scotland and agree that it's a beautiful country. I've just recently been away for a weekend in Oban, on the west coast and found the area really lovely - that whole area of scotland is worth a visit. And definitely take a ferry to visit some western isles.

Scotland is so lovely - my ex boyfriend lived in Aberdeen (we had a Portsmouth-Aberdeen relationship for a year, which is crazy!) and the bus there drove through such lovely countryside. The place I live is very unexciting, but I love visiting the Isle of Wight, I've been three times this year! x
ReplyDeletethe pictures of you and luke are so ridiculously cute! you're lookin' like such a babe in the last one especially ;)
ReplyDeletexxx
I've never been to Scotland, but I might be going next year, which is so exciting because it looks so beautiful. Those are some really gorgeous photos, they have a sort of dreamy quality to them. X
